If you love cheese, this cheese shop is quite a find. It is run by the ebullient Yves Bouclet who has had his finger on the cheese pulse for over 28 years.
Choose from over 300 cheeses but do try the local cow’s milk Bergues cheese (a favourite of Monsieur Bouclet). Bergues cheese is refined for two months in wet cellar and is washed in salted water and the local beer – biere d’ Esquelberque Blond – for three weeks. A kilo costs 14,95 euros but if do you go for it, though its great with a light red wine, pick up a bottle of the Esquelberque Blond to drink with it and experience a really great taste.
Amid the other 299 cheese there’s also some interesting cheeses such as Gouda with cumin for 13 euros per kilo.
